Getting the core support lined back up can be a bitch if you go that route.

I just took the top core support bar off of mine to put the engine and trans in together it was easy to slide right in and with my truck being as tall as it is can't really jack it up and get a cherry picker that will get the engine up that high lol

Needless to say I never wanna pull the core support and complete front end apart again

i jacked with it for 30 minutes and gave up. had the hood off, truck in the air, engine standing straight up...firewall wouldnt let it happen. sooooo i pulled the engine apart from the transmission while leaving the converter attached to the flex plate. im guna buy me an air hammer tonight to see if i can get that stripped converter bolt to break loose with some harsh persuasion.

As the converter hub is coming out of the pump and the block finally pops out the dowel pins it can put too much pressure on the trans pump and crack it.

Look into the trans at the input shaft and see if you can see the two pump teeth sticking out. Use a screw driver and try and turn them. Hoepfully they dont twist. If they look good all you can do is drive it and hope it doesnt break. On my first trans swap I had a ahrd time seating the converter and ended up cracking the pump. 250 miles later it left me stranded on the side of the road.
