Default ebay charges a "final value fee" now???

i decided to sell my scrap catalytic converters on ebay last week after not selling anything on there in probably 6 months. i get my invoice from ebay in my email today. i owe them $10.70 for one auction. i didnt do any special background, just a basic one picture auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MESOX:IT

when did they start raping sellers like this? i was hoping to sell some more stuff on there in next 2 weeks but not if they are going to charge that much.

Yeah, no fooling.

Ebay has always charged sellers a percentage of the total sale, a listing fee, and if you choose a "buy it now" or "reserve price" auction that's extra too. At least they have since 2000 when I first started on there. I use Craigslist to sell most anything now, although it's unlikely you'd have gotten $122 for two scrap converters on there.

everytime before this time it has cost me no more then $2 to list and sell and item. i had no buy it now and no reserve, because i knew they took a percentage then.

hmmm, that's odd. I guess your luck just finally ran out because I've always gotten an email from Ebay with a statement of what I owed them, after selling something. $10+ does seem high for what your selling price is though. Is it broken down, or itemized anywhere, like on your "My Ebay" > "My Account" page?
