Default don't drink and drive

A drunk driver almost took me out tonight. A buddy and I were leaving my parents' house and this woman swerved into my lane. I went off the road and ran her down, made her pull over, and then had a nice short chat with her. Turns out, she had no recollection of almost killing me. She got out of her car and walked down the road. I called the cops, gave them a full detailed description of what happened, and waited for them to arrive. They found her, came over and talked to me, then did nothing. Someone came to pick her up and that was that. No DUI, no public intoxication, nothing.

They said they couldn't do anything about it because she wasn't in her car. We were pretty far from any bar and she pulled over into a skate park. The skate park was closed and the owner of the car was walking around drunk.

Now that my little rant is over, don't drink and drive. If someone is swerving like a madman, call the cops. Oh, and get it on film if you expect the cops to do anything about it.

I was behind some one a month or so ago that was clearly drunk. Swerving all over the road, and would yield at green lights. Kept slowing down to get me to pass in a no passing zone where you couldn't see if someone was coming.
I didn't call the cops but I know I should have. Next time I definitely will and will stay with them until the cops show up.

Glad you got the lady to pull over.

I strongly advise calling the cops on people that bad. If anything had distracted me at that exact moment, I wouldn't be here. My friend and I would be lying in hospital beds, my truck would be on its way to the junkyard, and she would be on her way to jail.

Glad she didn't hit you. I once had a kid in a Sunbird jam it in reverse and floor it across the parking lot, pointed right at my '71 Challenger R/T. He saw it at the last second and skidded to a stop inches from my right quarter. I knew who he was, so I went to the cops and gave them his name, car description, and plate number. Of course, they did nothing.

My wife's best friend was killed by a drunk driver. I followed one down I-10 about a month ago with the cops on the phone until they got him. He was jerking all over the place. Surprised he didn't hit anyone.

My dad almost died in an accident last year. He was the one driving though, and fortunately he was the only one involved in the accident. His OBS was completely unrecognizable, he rolled it and hit a culvert doing 55 then flipped end over end and landed on the roof in someone's yard not 1/4 of a mile from his house. When he was blood tested at the hospital 5 hours after, he was 13 times over the legal limit. He learned his lesson, for the most part, and now he has a new respect for his life and family.

My sister's best friend and Mother were killed by a drunk driver a couple of years back, he tried passing someone going the other way in the center lane and crossed over and hit the person in front of them head on and then landed on their convertibles roof, he then proceeded on foot for almost half of a mile with broken ribs and a broken foot. He had no license and was way over the limit. He only got 10 years for this too, the bastard will most likely get beaten by the family members when he gets out though.

In this area of the country drunk driving is in high numbers, and because of that, I have numerous stories like these unfortunately. There's a reason it's illegal, everyone stay safe and look out for the other guy. Don't be afraid of calling the cops either, you just may be saving someone's life.

i almost had one take me out about the 2nd day i just got the new truck........coming down the hill to a traffic light that was green and just turned green and im glad i look and i stop quick to see a car flying through the red light, he had to be doing 50mph+ in a 35mph zone while running the red light....so i followed him who was driving in the middle of the road and would just start drifting off the to side of the road, but i didn't have my phone and wasnt sure what to do, until he flys past a officer running radar and that's when the blue lights started flashing so i turned off.

Best one yet, driving home one night with a state trooper in the other lane and an eclipse in front of us. This eclipse is all over the road and i see the trooper just ready to get him, until the eclipse kinda hits the gas and on a straight road and just loses it turning into the curb and homps it and smacks a street light pole. Haha what a dumbass

I followed a guy once a few years ago. He was all over the road, back and forth into oncoming traffic. First time I called, PD just said they would put out an "attempt to locate", then hung up with me. I thought that was BS, so I kept following the guy. Eventually he turned into a residential neighborhood. I was going to leave him be if he pulled up to a house or anything, but he drove through it and back onto a major street again, so I called PD again. Followed the guy for a little while, on the phone with the dispatcher the whole time. Eventually the guy pulled up to a red light and apparently passed out. He just sat there through about 6 lights before the cops finally showed up and arrested him. I was happy they got him, but I couldn't believe how long it took. I bet I followed the guy for 15-20 minutes.

I watched some police show thing where some guy followed a drunk driver who was ALLL OVER the road, off into the median on the highway, sideways back onto the road and he was filming the entire thing. Then the drunk pulls over and him and his buddy swap seats. Then the cops pull them over. The buddy now driving was also drunk so he got arrested but they said they couldn't give the first driver a dui because they didn't catch him driving.

I have no sympathy for people who drink and drive, absolutely none.......

I forgot where, but there is a county in Texas that sentences people to life in prison when they get too many DWIs. That's the way the entire country should be, IMO.
