Doing business right????

Not doing business right? I mean is everyone making so much money in this economy that they don't wanna please the customer....cause it will be so easy to find another one.
Long read so beware!
Starting off about my truck, I bought the truck with 13,xxx miles on it. I had it painted and lowered before I drove it home. Well after any suspension mod, you need an alignment. I took it to a local tire/alingment shop, and they "aligned" it. It drove ok......fast forward to 26,xxx miles and the driver side inner tie rod needs to be replaced. The dealership does it under warranty but can't align it due to the big wheels. So GM was going to pay for the alignment so i took it to a different shop, and at the tune of 160 they "aligned" it. Now here we are a 60,xxx miles and the passenger tie rod needs to be replace. So now out of warranty I go buy the part to do it myself(hope it will be right). I got the tie rod installed and went to see a buddyUpton tire. He put the truck on the lift and ill be damned if the knockouts are still in the front end. My front end was so screwed up its not even funny. So he punches out the tabs and gets it dead on and now it is better than stock!!!!!
Now My motorcycle. I bought it new in 06, before i left the dealer i had a set of rineharts and a k&n air cleaner and stage 1 download for the ECM. Bike ran great for a while and about 10k the bike started idling rough. I took it to Jackson Harley, they had it for 2 weeks and couldn't fix it. When I went to pick up the bike it had two scratches on the fender and it was only running on one cylinder. I pushed it on the trailer by myself, and hauled it to meridian. I dropped it off there and they called before i got back to my house and said it needed at ECM and could have it ready before i could get back over to it. So i told them do it and make sure the download was in it. I went and picked the bike back up, still a rough idle but hey i could get on it and ride so i was happy, till I saw the 1,200 dollar bill.
I got over that bill and had my bike so i was happy, then had to repaint it cause of Jackson Harley scratches on it. So hence the reason its red now. Well after a month or so it was still rough on the idle so i took it to oasis cycles (local bike builder/ shop). I had them pull the front and rear fender and check the idle. They said I needed a power commander for it. So i put on a power commander and had them pull the fenders, painted them the same day the took them off and had them back over the next morning for them to reinstall. I got a bill from the for 2,600 dollars for that labor. I told him to take off the power commander as he obviously made a profit from my other stuff. I will never darken the door of that place again unless i'm ghost ridding my motorcycle and it runs through the front door of their shop.
Now today the idle is still not fixed, it is at another shop. I called on a Thursday about 3 weeks ago and he said wait till middle of next week, we are busy and won't be able to work on it till then. I was finally happy that he was at least honest enough to say keep it till i can look at it. So the following Wednesday i took it to him and he said they would look at it that afternoon. I let him know about the time frame I was in (leaving this Friday on it to go to SC) and if he couldn't fix it just let it be till i got back. first thing he checks is exhaust gaskets and they are completly burnt up. The bike has been running lean and caused the bike to run extremely hot. He takes it upon himself to pull the exhaust off to inspect it further and breaks a exhaust manifold stud off in the head. So now the friday before my trip i have a bolt broken off in the head. He says now that the head has to come off and go to the machine shop and now it is tuesday, just a mere 3 days before i leave and my head is still not on the bike. And the problem i brought it in for has still not been addressed.
I'm so ****** tired of people trying to sell me stuff that might fix what i need and people who don't do what they say.......I am giving this last guy the benefit of the doubt but as you can see my history is just a little reminder of why I wouldn't. So Not here to bash people but just pissed and wanted to vent i guess.

I wouldnt pay someone who didnt fix the problem I brought it in for period. Quit bending over and taking it, stand up for yourself. Legally atleast here in TX if they damage your property while its in their possesion they have to fix it. My dad had much the same problem with his harley after having vance and hines pipes put on it and a screamin eagle air cleaner. His is an 03 so it has a carb and the harley shop he took it to "tuned" it with a bigger jet blah blah blah, well he LOST 8mpg which should not happen. He demanded his money back and took it to a local guy who dyno tuned it, and he gained 3mpg over what he was getting pre-mods and it runs great. Well not great enough to outrun my bike but good for a harley

haha i'm not bending over but the laws suck, I found the scratches on the bike after it was in the other harley shop so they blamed them and so on! Not worth a lawyer! I hope everything turns out alright but we will see! If my bike doesn't run good, i do have a guy here that i'm going to take it to, and just go ahead and do a 110 or a 124" motor and be done with it haha! As for the truck, i got it fixed right now and love it! But some people just take no pride in what they do!

As long as its not machine work or internal transmission work I do my work myself and have a buddy that does my alignments and makes sure its how I want it... it may take alittle time but learning how do it yourself saves tons of money fella..

yeah I can relate....after modding the crap out of mine and going through ~9 top ends in 10 years and an equal number of mechanics....fortunately I was lucky with the last build (I researched and bought my own parts) and she has been more than super reliable and purrs like a kitten.
Good luck with this go-round, remember to breathe.

yea i usually work on my own stuff unless it comes to a problem i can't figure out or if i don't have the resources to do it. The bike was just a rough idle, and i have replace motor mounts and inner fairing supports and all kinds of things, and never could figure it out. I assumed that a certified tech for Harley could if i couldn't. Boy have i been wrong so far!
On a lighter note, if all went well last night with the tech I can pick it up at lunch today! My power commander came in and it is ready to be hooked up and most all of my clothes are packed ready to hit the road friday......Just need the bike here and clean her up!
