Very true, but all around I like the Tq that the 4 stroke gives you. power to climb up just about anything and get yourself in trouble LOL... I just dont like the "on/off"-ness of a 2 stroke bike... the powerband is great if you want to keep it pinned all day, but riding like I have/do, a 4 stroke suits me a lot better.

sounds like you just described a 250f racing 4 stroke to me. not much low end. tons of top end. keep it reved and they are fun.

i have 4 bikes in the garge right now, all ktm. 105sx, 200exc, 300exc and a 450sx 4 stroke. that little 105 is like a light switch. tons of power but only if you keep it pined. the 200 has decent low end, killer mid range and revs out ok. the 300 is all low end, just grunt that thing and short shift it all day long. the 450 is by far the fastest and has good power from the bottom to the top but it is a little harder to start than the other bikes.

i had a yamaha 250f. i hated it, completely hated it. very hard to start and i hear that problem is somewhat common on many of the 250 4 strokes for some reason. no low end. when i say none i mean once you start to lug it the slighest little bit it would just die. it was fast as hell if you kept it reved and that was easy and fun thing to do on a mx track but mx just isn't for me. i like the woods and hills and this bike sucked for that.

i have also had a ktm 250sx(2 stroke), 520exc, kdx200(2 stroke) and a few other bikes.

every bike listed above i would take before one of the new racing 250f bikes unless i was looking to mx the thing. i think the ktm200exc is the best bike i have ever had. wide power range, super easy to start, low weight.
