This 72 hour sale thing is gonna drive me nuts. I really want to wait and order a '09 GMC Vmax 6-spd exactly like I want, but there's a '08 Chevy Vmax on the lot that has all the options I want (except color) and is dirt cheap with all the rebates & such. This sucks. Don't want another 4L60E on the place, but it's under 100K warranty so... Somebody hide my wallet.

it seems like they do this about once every 3 years or so, if it were me, i'd pass up the deal. The only way to be satisfied is to buy what you want the first time.

 

 

to wait 4 months and have the 6 speed is worth it. My company truck is a expedition w/ a 6 speed and the difference between 4 and 6 is HUGE. I'd almost bet that a 6 speed w/ 5.3 and 3.73s will be knocking on the doors of the old 6.0 4spd 4.10 combo. I know a 3/4 suburban w/ the 6.0 3.73s and 6 speed is 3.5 mph faster in the 1/4 mile then a 6.0 1500 4.10 4spd suburban. Just my .02 cents.

 

The wait isn't the problem, it's the $4-5K difference in price that's eating away at me. GM is raising MSRP's on the 09's by 3.5% too. I can always get a tune and throw a convertor in the '08 to keep the 09's in my rearview. Guess I'll flip a coin to make my decision.
