He also said that he wasn't sure that it really got that as he hasn't measured the gas mileage yet, but it's entirely possible.

So who'd going to be the first to swap a DMAX into a 1/2 ton GMT800?

Lets hear it run. Looks like they shoe horned it in there, Bet it hangs down pretty low because it clears the stock hood. Cooling should also be intresting.

It's a Cutlass with a GN rear clip. The guy who built it is a smart cookie; he got the Cutlass because it started life as a diesel, and as a result, the VIN is not subject to the normal CA smog checks. So his conversion is perfectly legal, in spite of the fact that it will likely have in excess of 500HP/1000TQ. Very elegant. I bet it will turn over those meats as well.

It is running. I don't think cooling will be a problem, diesels run fairly cool any way, and its not like it will ever see much of a load in that car

That's cool. I wondered how long it was going to take before someone did something like this with all the crazy power the trucks are getting out of those engines.

on the cooling - exactly, half the rpms = half the heat, or at least that is how it was explained to me, check out whippled_496's thread on retrofitting a dmax intercooler + radiator in his whippled 8.1L, he had overheating problems and had to go back the the big block rad and a whipple aftercooler

nice car, bet thats a lot of added weight on the front end though
