Don't make it a race truck!! That's all I'll day... Haha
I love my truck and love driving it. But no heat, no AC, no power steering, climbing over a roll cage, a god awful ride, etc, etc makes it pretty close to miserable if it wasn't my baby.

I say leave it. I am about done with my truck. When I am done, I am just driving it. Hop in, turn the key and have fun. If I get caught in the rain oh well. It has AC, is comfortable to drive, and I think it looks good.
I went through what you are talking about with my Chevelle. I bought it when I was 15 (Im 37 now), and did a decent restoration. Stock 350 with a cam and exhaust. Well I wanted it better. Well I did a 327 for it, and never even drove it with that engine. I wanted better. So I got a 434 small block. I atleast drove that 1200 miles before wanting it better. Now long story short it has a twin turbo 408 (23 degree valve engine) with a complete frame off restoration. I actually have lost interest in it. I haven't even fired that engine up, and all I have left to do is some exhaust work. It is an expensive car that is not practical at all. It isn't comfortable, you can't drive it in the rain, no AC, you can't even park it in a parking lot without worrying about some idiot damaging it. I should have never went that far, and now it isn't even fun. And when I do get it done I will be afraid to drive it.

You need another project/hobby. A lot of times people will ruin a perfectly good project by trying to exceed what it was built for because they have nothing else to focus their attention on noel that their project is over.
I think nonnie has it right by having three different hobbies, he's into fast street trucks, guns and swamp buggies. When he reaches his objective in one area he starts a project in another hobby and so on. So by the time he comes back into the street truck scene he's been out for long enough that his enthusiasm is back as well.
I think that's where you are now, you have accomplished a goal but the enthusiasm to push it and possibly ruin your project is not there. So get into 4-wheelin or build a dedicated track car or lose your virginity, that's always fun!

If you want to go really fast just build a bad *** LSX 3rd gen or somthing, those cars are cheap and work good with suspension bolt ons.
Keep your TRUCK the way it is and ENJOY!!!!

We all have the go fast bug but damn you have a addiction problem. Not quite to the goal yet and looking to set the bar higher. I envy your ability to just keep upping the goal so quickly and reach it relatively easily.
I like to reach a goal then enjoy it. I say find a class you fit in and give bracket or heads up a shot!
