A couple weeks ago We did a road trip in my friend's 1967 Rambler American (6.0L/T56 powered) over to Vernon BC and I caught myself a 16 foot Barracuda! It was my Uncle's 1967 notchback barracuda, which he had owned since 1970. He hadn't driven it in 5 years, and decide it was time to sell it. So I decided to keep it in the family! We drove it back home and had a great road trip. We put about 800km on the car on the way home (500ish miles) with no problems. It drives like new. I’m going to try my best not to make it fast. LOL.
It was originally a 273ci car, and currently has a 1974 360, with a set of X heads off of a 340. It has 4 wheel drum brakes, and some sweet 14” slots! The 3.23 rear gear in the 8-3/4 work nicely down the highway. The paint and interior were re done in 1995.
Anyway, figured I would share about my new toy!

Yeah it has been garage kept for the past 30 years or so, so it has faired pretty well.
Yeah it's not original... Pretty close though, put stock wheels and a 1967 273 in it and it's there. That isn't what I'm going to do by any means. But, I've got a fast all motor street car already, and it's cool to drive around town but cruising this thing down the high way is a different kind of fun.

I think you should leave it as is. Something like that makes for a good "time machine" these days, when you want to get away from the world as we know it. Jump in the Barracuda and take it for a cruise and you're instantly in another time.
Awesome car.
Awesome car.

Thanks guys!
Yeah, it's a nice "time machine" for sure. A good stress reliever to just drive down the highway with it. It's seems all my vehicles are good stress relievers for me. If I am in need of a stress ball to squeeze I take the Aspen out for a hit on a back road LOL.
