Cool video...and that guy has gotten 300K hits in 10 days...WOW!! I noticed when he put it in Neutral and turned it off that neither time he had the throttle floored, I thought that one of the main problems was you couldn't overide the throttle pedal if it's depressed. Gotta research this more!!

There was an incident here a week or so ago. I think the throttle sticks and the car can not be disengaged from a drive gear. The driver was on the phone with 911 and a CHP was dispatched to slow the car to a stop by getting in front of it. From what I gather it couldn't be shut down?

 

If you watched the videos he refers to that guy. Appearently he was $750k in debt and planned to sue Toyota to recover somewhat, but is now being faced with filing a false police report among other things. The guy in the video turned the engine off with the pedal to the floor.

 

+1 The prius crashes were all faked. The data loggers showed that the guy in Ca was faking. The other one is just my thinking.

yep. these idiots that try to pull stunts like that don't realize that the dealership can hook up software to read all the PIDs. i'd like to see the look on someone's face when they tried to do that and the dealership showed them the recording from the ECU

 

one of the reports said that the cop told him to push the brake and ebrake together and it slowed down and was escorted to a stop with the CHP car. Listen to the 911 call the dude sounds like a ****** idiot... 75mph... seriously?
