Anyone know the difference between a 1500 HD and a 2500 HD? Both are gassers 6.0, 8 lug, 3/4 ton, crewcab. I'm lost!!

 

I believe its towing capacity. The 2500 probably has a stronger frame from the rearend back and a heavier suspension.

I Believe the 1500HD and 2500(non HD) are the same frame. then the 2500HD has a bigger rear rear frame section.

 

the selling point of the 1500hd initially was that you could get a 1500 with the 2500 suspension. but closer to the 1500 price range. so i would check the prices.

 

Thanks Guys I have the 1500 HD it has a 14 bolt rear end the same as the 2500. Started doing rebuild on front end and got into a debate with Napa guy neither of us really knew difference, but tow cap. and pricing does make since

 

a 1500hd and 2500LD is the same as far as i know. 1500hd was only offered in 6.0L/4speed auto(4L80e)/ 14bolt, crew cab short bed.
