Go over here and see if your computer is under this class action suit it sounds like it may be under the video part that they are talking about.

What would this have to do with the video card? This problem is completely audio related, and I checked all of my drivers and they're all up to date. I don't think it's a codec problem either as it involves all audio formats. If anything it's gotta be something to do with either the audio driver or a hardware problem.

And if you would look at the picture I posted, I have an ATI graphics card, not an NVIDIA....

Did this just start happening, its possible that if the driver updated and the new driver is the problem it wouldn't hurt to roll it back. And by clipping I meant when the volume gets loud enough, the audio card will cut the peaks of the audio sine wave as it transcodes it.

Open your task manager and watch for intermittent spikes in CPU usage.

If u read the rest of the info on the site i linked u would know that it covers more then the nividia graphics cards it basicly says that there may be a NVIDIA graphics processing unit or media and communications processor in some of the hp/dell/apple laptops that is cuaseing Intermittent video issues among other issues.Which the way u are talking makes me think that may have something to do with problem eventhough u say it is related to audio.

It does not look like my particular model is affected by that.
