Computer GURU's enter here

I work for information management, and we are working on a bypass of port 80 on a few of our machines. This usually is a form of proxy avoidance. For me to learn about this and how to predict it and also find it, i need to know a little about it.
Now i have never messed with servers and all that so it will be new to me. There are many different ports to use to bypass the outgoing port 80 that we can use to view a webpage. If we were to set up a proxy server to run at my house and redirect the ip address here at work to run through port 22 on my comcast modem then I could essentially use any port on my work computer to bring that info back to me? Is this correct?
The way i see it, we use a program called websense that only blocks, and records the information passed through port 80 so if we changed the port the we could avoid the filter and my activity status would show just IP address on the server rather than individual sites. The workers here are blocked from most everything including forums and youtube and facebook. I am not asking for myself as i have access to all of these, we have been asked to take a deeper look into the proxy avoidance aspect to keep others from bypassing our filter.
Any help you can give me on this would be appreciated!!!
