Default Can any GM employees verify?

that the "employee discount" that GM offers every once in a while is the real deal, or is it just the name of the sale?

And if so, do employees get even better prices while these sales are going on? I think it'd be pretty crappy if you got the same price as everyone else.

It's all in how you work it, as an employee at a dealership, you can typically find awesome deals on stuff that has been sitting on the lot. Wait until rebates load up (when I bought my Sierra in 2006 there were $6500 in rebates) and the truck had been on the lot for over 8 months, got it for a steal...

As far as directly from GM, not really, they sell the cars to the dealers for what they sell them for, they're is no real adjusting there.

I don't think it's that good of a sale...... I bought my silverado on fall of '04 when the orig window sticker was 23K, then I got them down to $100 over invoice (20,300) and then another $5,500 cash back rebates off after that. You do the math. This sale sucks - wait 'til October or November, then you're going to see some inventory move at good prices

Yeah better prices in those months but less to choose from I'd say september gives you a good price and choice and early october.

Dealers don't make that much money on new car sales, they make money off of service, extended warranty plans, and financing.

Invoice price is not what is considered a good deal. The deals going on right now blow that **** outta the water. My dad just bought a $30,500 ext cab Sierra and got $9100 off w/ GMS/ rebate/ and a little negotiation. Deals may get a little better in the next few months, but not by much.....

MSRP on mine was $38,210, paid $31,216...only because I took a slight hit on my trade. Would have been closer to $29,000.
