I'm in the market for a droid in a few days for my 2 year upgrade and can't decide on the Incredible, droid x or droid 2.
The X is just so dang big.
When they go to 4G, will the current droids be able to be upgraded with software or does it even matter?
I figure the speed would be more like your home internet, it's all on the service providers end.

I ran a speed test, my 3g right next to a coworkers 4g phone. 4g is fast.....much much faster. No, a 3g phone cannot be upgraded to 4g, that's why I'm waiting.

3g is bearable for internet surfing, just bearable. 4g is comparable to my home network speed.

So how much longer until 4G with verizon? I might wait a little bit but not long. All 3G droids are light years faster than this old 3g crackberry I have.

I asked Verizon and they told me mid-summer 2011. I'm waiting but I have a Droid (original) and am happy with it so no hurry for me.

The 3g will probably be all I need anyhow.
Check this out about the 4G Iphone.

If you want an inexpensive phone, I have a Blackberry 8830 "Curve World Edition" that I would sell cheap. I am about to buy a used droid on Ebay, so I wouldn't have any need for the BB anymore. Its spent its life in an OtterBox, until last week when I changed to a slimmer case. It is in perfect condition if you're interested!

I would probably jump on the iPhone if Verizon carried it although I really like android...it would depend on a few factors such as Google connectivity. I make good use of the Droids Google network and don't want to trade that.
