It's really rare to find a good piece for under$150 but I haven't heard of any brand names. Just do a goggle search and see what's the best under that price.Buddy of mine has one the he bought for $100 and it works OK. The top of the line go for nearly $300+ like the "Valentine"!

Escort Passport. Save your money for another month and get one. I got mine shipped for $279 off of ebay. They normally retail for $299. The Escort Solo is cool too. Basically as good as the passport but is wireless. You just have to buy some rechargable batteries to have on hand but that beats the damn wiring!

I have a cobra unit that is a couple years old, I think I only paid around $100 for it at the time. So far its been the best one I've ever owned.

Save your money and get the Passport 8500 X50 its the best and has saved my *** on many occasions. I have had that one, the 130ish dollar cobra and the valentine all in the windshield of my truck at the same time and the passport had better range. The only thing I really like about the valentine is the directional arrows that tell you where the radar is coming from but the range isnt as good as the passport. When it comes time to buy another I will buy a passport again there is no other brand IMO and I have had them ALL
