Some of you might remember my mentioning of a friend that was murdered several years back. My friend, Jason, was probably the most influential person in my life for being a gear head. We worked on all sorts of things back then. We went to car show, went cruising, and even some racing together. He was 5 years older then me and I always looked up to him.
When he died, he left behind a wife, a daughter and a son. His son, Luke, was only 2 or 3 and has very little memory of his Dad. I believe he is now 9.
Today I was working in the area and was able to pick up Luke. We rode into town and walked around a local small car show. As I thought about it, I felt proud to be one of the people to pass down his father's passion. Watching him walk around and talk about the cars, I can definitely see a lot of his father in him. He would walk right up to people and ask them about their ride, just like his Dad. It definitely brought back a lot of memories.
His Dad left behind several project vehicles, some completed and some not. Luke asked me if next time, we can take one of his Daddy's cars and put it in the show. I could think of few things to make me more proud, then to take him to a show in the car his Dad and I enjoyed so many year ago.
Good guys will be in Nashville next week. I think I might go grab the little dude and go.

Thanks guys.
I will try to get a pic of the old hotrod we used to cruise in. Luke still has it, his Grandfather takes care of it for him.
Custom build frame, fiberglass 29 ford body, 32 metal front clip. Engine and trans from a 85 monte carlo ss, both have been worked. The car only weighs about 2000 lbs. It has some serious scoot.
