I think the decline comment was because it has stayed stagnant while the big 3 have advanced in every way possible. Personally, my wife's 2020 LTZ is awesome. So many niceties and features. Same with my 16 charger. But truthfully, outside of the heated and cooled seats and power windows, locks, and cruise, I don't use any of the fancy driving modes or one button roll all the windows down (but not roll back up because chevy is dumb) or the nav and xm and LTE. Hell her truck has a power tailgate that is controlled from the cab and the parking brake is now a push button electric. Anymore I just want something that starts, goes, and is easy to fix. I can add heated leather seats and apple car play fairly easily.

Charger is paid off which is great but the family is out growing it and we don't take it anywhere or do anything with it. Might as well get something I can hunt and camp and work out of instead of having to borrow the wife's truck all the time. Interesting you say it tows better than your 2500. I'm guessing it's a gas engine. Figured it would handle the weight better though.

18-22ish... and soon-to-be bi-turbo when i get back from the sand land.
i really wanted to get an older, cheaper truck... just couldn't find one in that good a shape that didn't cost almost as this 2018.
dang man... sorry.
That's why I still drive a 2002 2500HD. I can afford to buy any truck currently on the market, but I don't need any more truck than I currently have. The best truck is a paid off truck. I do know that a Tundra pulls better than my 2500HD, but my truck does just fine.
dang man... sorry.

Had one as a DD for many many years. They are awesome trucks. I put 215k miles on the one I had with no problems at all. Only down side is fuel economy. Im into old toyota 4wds and my buddies either tow with tundras or 3/4,1 ton diesels. We replaced my Tundra with a Nissan Titan because of the price and 5year/100k warranty. We claim tax write off for as long as we can now and then get rid of it with a warranty. The titan has more features but I dont see it lasting as long.
As TXsilverado said this is the last year for the 5.7. Twin turbo v6 is coming which should be interesting.
