Oh I know a ton, but I have never taken the test for certification let alone pass all those different "blocks" and get to level 3. The county wants a certified NICET person (at least level 3) to represent the installer of fire alarm systems.

Couldnt you just have someone whos qualified pull the permit for you? Then yall just do the work under their name without nobody knowing?

sorta...Fire MArshalls office is a tad different than the permit and inspection side. Our electrical inspections, they don't care too much, althought it is definitely against the law to do so, but the fire marshalls are requesting that the "qualified individual" be within your company. Since it is a new law, they are admitting you can have a "third party" represent you, BUT you will need that "qualified individual" within your company within the next 2 yrs.
