It's GM A.S.E.P. (automotive service educational program). I am a graduate, and I quit the dealership because of said politics and red tape. These guys know what they are talking about. I loved the idea, and I love General Motors, but the dealership is a heap of ****.

The "Flat Rate" system can turn some people into real azzholes, and takes the fun out of it. Now that I'm no longer on flat rate and work on more diagnostics, my career is fun again. It's tough to take the time and diagnose something properly while your watching the clock tick and your paycheck get smaller. That's one of the reasons that there are alot of "parts changers" out there.
Yep, if you enjoy spending money on mods, DONT be a mechanic... THE PAY SUCKS.. Do it as a hobby, enjoy it...
