The mini z platform is fun on a rainy day. The boy and I make tracks around the house and race. Something to do when it is gross outside...

I used to lust after Mini-Z's, but dang it the smaller the cars get the more expensive they seem to get!

I beggggggged my parents to get me the Formula Z for x-mas one year. Begged. This was circa 2002-2003ish, and welp- they didn't

I blame RC for who I am today, I had a Worlds Edition RC10 for my 1st and its been downhill since. Lets see if I can remember my line-up

Associated RC10 Worlds ~2000
HPI RS4 MT ~2002
Trinity Pan Car ~2007
Original E-Maxx ~2007
Losi XXX-T~2007
Losi XXX-B ~2007 (thought I was gonna get into racing lol)
Traxxas Slash ~2008
HPI Wheely King (axles turned into my Bronco Scaler) ~2008
HPI RS4 MT converted to brushless (different than above RS4) ~2009
Venom Creeper ~2009
Traxxas Stampede; full RPM build, bearings, 3600kv, 2s. Should have kept this truck ~2009
Aquacraft Mini Mono ~2011
Aquacraft Cat, kinda of a home built POS ~2011
Losi XXX-S Converted to a Rally Car ~2012
Axial EXO ~2012
Losi SCT-E (full TLR build as well) ~2012
Vaterra Twin Hammers Clone ~2014
HobbyKing On Road car (was gonna build a rally car from it, never did) ~2013/2014
Hobby SlowStick plane ~2014

Up in there I built a few tube chassis crawlers based on SCX-10 and Wheely King axles. One of them my friend Max still has

I was pretty RC stagnant for a couple years. From '14-20 I didnt buy anything *gasp*. Just had my "big" boat, the Bronco, Losi SCB and Axial TT. Then I bought the Trailwalker on black Friday 2020. I find it hard to get as excited about them as I did even just 5yrs ago. Times and personalities change I guess

The mini z platform is pricey but they are incredibly high quality and are repairable. I've had those 2 since my son was 2 so he could learn hand eye cordination with something interactive other than a video game. He can drive the big trucks now better than I can, it was totally worth the price especially since they are still going strong 6 years later. I got a tad overzealous when he was first born and had to learn how to moderate it. Lol.

Took my son to a hobby shop this weekend and let him pick out a pair of crawlers for us. My first time being in a hobby shop with indoor arenas and it was awesome.

We are having a ton of fun with them. I just ordered up a new motor, low geared trans, brass front end, and a bigger servo and mount for mine. The local off road park we wheel in just opened up their own scale city for crawlers so now we can rock the rzr and the mini’s.

Bad ***, I love the trx platform, the mini is blast. Nice work there dad! My son and I are going to Beach RC Friday to run our latest kit on the track, we built an RC10 74.1B. It will also be my first trip to an indoor track, they held the roar nationals this past weekend so I’mbetting the track is near perfect. Im excited to go race on a real track instead of just bash around.
