Been working around it for over 10 years now. I work for an inspection company up in Prudhoe Bay Alaska that is contracted through BP. It's nasty **** and the scary thing is the higher PPM it gets the less it has an odor and you can't detect it by smell. I have been in a couple skids up here in side facilities and well houses when my alarm went off and we had to vacate the area. Just remember if you smell rotten eggs to get out of the area quickly. Also if you see someone go down don't run to their aid, leave the area and call for help and get a SCAT pack on before returning. You don't know what made them go down and chances are if it's HS2 you will quickly join them.

Alright guys just a little update. Im on a location right now in tilden for standby rescue for flowback and it super slow. Ive been pulling tubes at the separators and theyve been from 3,000-5,000 ppm.
Whats crazy is my very first location they sent me to was a flowback location and i was getting 15,000 ppm at the separator and it spiked to 36,000 at the oil tanks! Kinda scary when a breath of 1,000 parts will kill you. Im loving this job just not the time away from my girl but at least i can go 45 minutes down the road and be home.

Couple of pics of me and my crew having to work in it. Had to get back in the hole so we could get the rotating head back on.
H2S was around 100ppm on this day. The most I've seen out here was 1200ppm at the shakers.

Glad you're liking it so far, just don't let your guard down. At that concentration you won't even know what happened until you're shaking hands with St Peter we have H2S training Monday. Weve got more and more of our locations with it showing up on our meters where it didn't before.
