Next year by this time my truck will have a turbo, built 80e and a 12" lift with 40s with 20" rims hopefully if all goes well then Ill be done

2007 will bring a rcsb s-10 with a built 5.3(my old motor) with a small turbo built for good mpg and beatin up on sprots cars

swapped my 20's for some 22's black on polished lip
dropped my truck from a 2/4 to a 4/6 thanks to "twankydeuce". right on for helpin out Jeff!
then my esky handles arrived today and waitin for my projector headlights.
thats' about it for the year. let's see what happen in 06!

 

I just took my truck to the track this months after owening it for more than 2 years. I am very satisfied with the times considering the mods. I will shoot for high 12's not that the 4.10's are installed hopefully before the year ends. Some should start a thread titled "Goals for 06".

 

Dumped a bunch of cash on the bucket this year...accomplished some too. Went from 16.5@81.7 to 15.6@89.5 on 33's

Think I did the Praise Dyno brakes, Bilstein shocks, and TA Rear Diff girdle this year also...can't remember. Might have been late last year lol.

Bought a whole bunch of stuff for future install too...StainlessWorks headers and y-pipe, LQ9 shortblock, 8.1 31# injectors, Magnaflow mufflers and x-pipe, Joe Gibbs wheels...I think that's it. Hopefully be able to take care some of that in 06!

 

Let see.........changed APC taillights to '02 candied lights, then to '03 tails, and now '06 tails w/ black trim. Changed front bumper from chrome to a painted black one. Got new painted black mirror caps. Pulled all the trim off, except for door moldings. Went for 17" Timeless 6 wheels to stock 16's w/ Toyos, to stock 17" Avalanche wheels and tires. Changed mufflers from a FM 2-chamber dumped to a FM 1-chamber dual dumped.

W/T rear bumper (needs to be powdercoated black)

W/T grille (was going to paint, but selling to AP)

GMC "low profile" tailgate cap (for when I get the Snugtop)

well the only thing i had set for this year with the truck was to get the quickest N/A 5.3 and did it man i love it when a plan comes together lol, 2006 goal is to get this brick into the 11's N/A.

 

you just don't like seeing me get a smidgens close to ya do ya . oh well.

my plans for 05 were to get a 13 on motor and high 12 on gas. neither happened. i did get a low 14 motor and low 13 on gas. katrina and a blown tranny didn't help me meet my goals.

06 goals are new lq9 with heads and cam, bigger better trans and low 13 motor and low 12 maybe high 11 gas. we'll see. might get an fbody and play with it.

I need to thank a lot of you who have had a hand in all the progress the truck has made this year and especially thank all of you who contributed to the incredible amount of information/knowledge I gained from being a part of this and a couple other forums. Bud8fan got it started with pm's right off the bat which made me feel very welcome (I needed that... what with the obvious age difference's) and then Whitt1 spent a lot of time answering pm's and several of you took a lot of your time and energy to answer my questions in posts and pm's and I REALLY appreciate it. I'm truly grateful. Your efforts have significantly improved the quality of my life. THANK YOU!!!!!!

New garage stocked with tools etc. (my mom passed last April. Her house is 3 blocks away. Wife and I are buying it to rent out the two apartments and then I'll have the 20x32 ft shop in back of the garage. YES!! Can you say home-built 402? )

 

This year I set out to run in the 13s on my 20s and get 20 mpg. I made the 13s on the 20s and have given up on the 20 mpg. After all the mods I still average exactly what I did before 17.0 mpg, which is fine with me.

Next year I want to drop my time a couple of more tenths, but will do it on 16" drag radials with a stall. I also want to take care of a couple of "maintenence" items on the truck that have been bothering me along with adding painted handles and a new intake tube. Not much for this year, but I have to buy a set of tires and that can be a budget killer.
