i love how if someone is defending a truck similiar to the one they own the always say 'its not runnin right' or 'somethin is wrong with it' its never 'wow, you beat it? what all mods do you have'. its just like they are the lawyer judge and jury on the case and whatever they say takes priority over what has really happend, just because they are the all mighty and knowing ones.

i had a v6 fullsize 5 speed 94 with tbi . ran high 16's id run my buddys 15.9 integra on the streets though . i ran a crew cab from a 55 to 80 then we both layed off . but they ran better at the track then me . street racing is different then track times . on a test and tune someone can sit at the light forever and run a 14 still where they got beat by someone who ran low 16's . its about reaction . maybe u have a real good one compared to all those people . i my self in my v6 ran a 96 5.7 in a extended cab . prolly because the light turned green i was gone well he was just taken his foot off the brake to hit the gas .

 

i never said it doesnt run right. my truck is bone stock and weighs 5000 pounds with no gas and no tailgate. i'm not expecting it to run 12s, but it's just not logical to say a stock 350 beats a stock 5.3 with comparable weight.

 

actually on many boards most say that it will, i know that mine will and has. I even have my brother to attest to this on several occasions. Its the torque of the 350 and the tuning of the 5.3 i suppose, plus i trapped 82 in mine w/a 2.6 sixty on one run. thats at full weight, speakers, full tool box. I ran my friends 5.4 single cab boss and pulled him on the highway, he ran a 16.0 @ 84 or 85 last time at the track, i have a video that ill put up later.

 

I have a pretty good example. My '99 Z71(5.3, bone stock at the time, had 300 miles on it) versus a '97 Z71(5.7, cai, exhaust). I absolutely roasted him...Had another friend, had a '94 5.7 TBI(cai, exhaust). After about 3 seconds we werent even in the same zip code. Both on the street, up to about 90mph. Similar trucks, similar weight, similar results...victory!! There are a lot of variables that can come up in any race, so everyone keep that in mind when comparing.

me and my friend Cammin03 when running on the highway in his 03 5.3 w/cai and and flows, i would inch away from him up to 100 mph...Now its a compltely differents story. I imagine gearing could have had something to do in your races.. I have also beat and 02 excab 5.3 z71 w/exhaust w/my brother in my truck, maybe i have a freak.

 

with my stock 99 tune i got a 2.4 60ft.
01+ would be much better.

i guess i do, thats usually what we joke about..My sixty would be better but i dont have a posi and it smokes the one michelin. I have one vid of my truck literally smoking the 1 tire through the 1/8 mile marker on a 1/4 mile track, i ran a lightning fast 18.6 @ 82 on that run so even with the bad et, it still had a little up top. It was like a 2.9 sixty or something, i had acidentally hit the waterbox.
