You shouldn't have to talk yourself into a decision. talking yourself into dropping money is one thing but what's the point on saving money if you end up regretting your decision or thinking "what if...?"

Another thing to consider is the fact that heavily modded cars aren't always done right. by far the safest option is going to be a new-ish 5.0 that you mod yourself, down the road.

Have you considered a used 09+ cts-v? Even a stock one is pretty quick if I'm not mistaken.

I wont be "saving money" by buying a srt8 300. Im looking at several for 18-22k. I test drove a 2010 mustang GT saturday. wasnt a 5.0 however it was too tight inside for me. I was stuck on it until i drove it then i realized it wasnt what i wanted. I know the 5.0 is powerful and id be giggly with the power...that wont add backseat for practicality.

I have not considered a newer "V", just havent looked into them and id think the price would be a good deal higher than my budget. IMO You have to budget yourself, Id rather wish I had bought X instead of Y rather than spending greatly over what I anticiated and having "did i really need , is it still practcal" buyers remorse

Im not really talking myself into the 300. I just didnt really think about it before. I consider it a great choice for my wants AND needs because I do plan for this to be my DD. After seeing them up close and taking a good look at it, its a very good option. Its not a nimble sports car but itll be a fun daily and still have performance and aftermarket. also I wanted a standard shift (required it) but after some REAL WORLD thought and some insane holiday traffic to persude me..i remembered how the fun goes away FAST when you daily a stick, and the faster it is the more frustrating it is. lol

The 300 srt is auto, ill stall it later and never look back.

UPDATE!

Ok guys ive finally decided against going 4 dr due to the fact that it greatly limits my options and my wife and I dont have kids yet so why give up on coupe just yet.

Ive also decided that I wanted a GTO so I looked and found a pretty nice one in JAX for sale. Im going wednsday to pick her up for a good price.

Its a 2005 GTO, LS2, Auto, Cyclone Grey mettalic, Off road X pipe, muffler delete, black leather.

Paying cash and planning to do very little to her for a while. Eventually when its no longer on DD duty ill get into the real modding.

Ill post pics when I get her home.
