Depends on how tempted you are to mod, id say 5.0 to just sit back and relax other than that a terminator all day. I had a h/c/bolt on ss and although it was fun the long *** doors and other little things bothered me. Gto has an awesome interior but remember that they are around 4000lbs heavy. If you're interested in german at all id suggest an e55 amg(supercharged v8), my buddy got one from carmax with a killer warranty for 28k It keeps up with a stock ls3 vette and a 402 gto and thats completely stock while riding in style. You can always do a pulley and e85 and have one of the biggest sleepers.

I would say the Cobra, it will have the highest resale value.
If I was considering a CTS-V I would buy the the one from a guy I know.

Why not do a swap? something like a S10, RX7, 350Z... I know you can pick up a nice roller and put a LS1/2/3, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2 in one for under 25K. Plus it would be built by you so you could trust it and make it the way you want.

I do dig the CTS-V, ALOT. Found some SICK, built motor, 500-600+ hp bangers for good prices. But my Fiance keeps talking me out of it cause we've seen so many that the back of them fall apart (backup light lenses gone..looks like ***)...anyone else seen this? I know this is petty but Its a caddy, id expect better and im guessing the resale isnt worth a tart because 8 years ago the car was $51K sticker. Now they sell for $17-25K with 20K in mods. OUCH
Although he termi is just as old or older 03-04... They sel well for good money. The have seemed to hold the value and they continue to be badass to most anyne. I never get that.."Sure its fast but it was cool...a few years ago" feeling around a nice, modded

To be honest i still dont know. I still am considering on a WS6 but the high money for basically modded or STOCK N/A cars with dated interior or which im already not really fond of is hanging me up.
And then of course theres the new Dog in town..the Coyote. What can I say...bad *** car and I Like everything about it..but whats all this "STAY AWAY FROM THE 6SPD"??? AHHH This is the last thing I want to hear. Im almost REQUIRING my new ride to be a stick.
All this being said...I appreciate your help. The poll is dead even on the Trans Am, Maro, GTO and New 5.0, Kinda surprised the Cobras are getting little love. The Camaro is probably out. Yes they can fly but its just not a nice enough car for what im looking for and EVERYONE has one...And considering my location...id just be 'nother Mullet wearing 'Merica muscle driv'n redneck. lol A friend of mine has built his 99 to be SICK, its H/C/I LS1, TH400, Big Stall, Progressive NOS, 8.8 Rear swap, all the suspension, dead hooks drag radials on any street.LOW 7's on motor, Runs deep in the 6's int he 1/8th mile on the jug and THEN he just did a turbo build. Its very possible about to go 5's and can drive it daily...But Its rough, NOT nice inside no matter how Clean it is. And Ive already gotten a price for this car...considering the 20G he dumped in it the sell price is an absolute bargain. But this a street/strip grudge car. Full interior like stock but its just a brash car. Officially not that great to street anything other than driving to the track or "Mexico" for a few big money street runs.
There is a car local to me that i've been looking into...When the time is right I may just jump on it. Its a VERY low mile Cobra, tons of mods, tons of money invested...prettty fast, drives like stock and the owner is talking good on the money. Quite surprised honestly because considering the car and the mods and 17K miles... I would expect this car to go for 5-7K more all day. It even has a built 4R70W he currently running and he"ll wap the 6 speed back in if I want it stick so i wont have to touch it.

How about a crew cab truck with just a ls2 stock bottem, ls3 top supercharged with a stock 4l80e, thats a nice quick ride and good throttle response and you can have plenty of back seat and truck bed space and you can daily drive it everywhere
