Wrecked my TBSS
#61
I did, last week sent a e-mail to the GM of the dealership and thats what I told him, I may be an employee but I'm a paying customer. I made it clear I needed it by the 27th of May for my vacation...over a week after the 2nd delivery date btw. Nope, they gave me a 08 suburban to drive, sorry that dosent make all better! I'm seriously thinking of trading it in on something else! I'm never gonna be happy with it.

Well...glad you are ok first off.
Second - there are differences between a cash customer and an insurance job.
Unfortunately I learned this the hard way with the dealers around here.
Hopefully it will work out for you. Go over the truck with a fine tooth comb. Don't settle if it doesn't look right. Make sure they show you that they re-aligned the front end on the rack. Get a printout. (I would sell it after its fixed - they are NEVER the same, and you don't need to find the electrical/mechanical gremlins that will be running amok)
Third, see my signature... If your in a No-fault state, your pretty much screwed if somebody hits you. They can total your car out, say "sorry..." and walk away.
Unless you are critically injured AND have loss of function of your body....save your time and effort on the lawsuit.
I live with back pain every day from when the bonnie was hit...and not a darn thing I can do about it, other than keep paying for meds.

I too am glad you didn't get seriously hurt. Even though I didn't know it at the time, I suffered a lot of damage to my back from one of bad wrecks i've had over the years. My 95 C1500 was about 2.5 feet shorter in front because of the wreck i had, and my frame was bent to hell, but my airbags didn't deploy either
. I really think GM needs to throw some money towards the longterm functionality of their safety systems. Hopefully you'll be able to either fix your TBSS back the way you want it or sell it and buy a new one.

As for selling it I'm pretty much screwed on that! Just made the second note on it, both first and second payments made while still in the body shop!
As for the at fault, he was and it happened in Tennessee which is an at fault state but his insurance is not accepting liability? My ins. is not either although under my comprehensive it's being fixed. Big insurance battle yet to come but thats why you have it and pay for it!

You should look into "inherent diminished value" on the TBSS. It is now worth less because of that accident. Once the carfax is pulled you will lose a lot of value. Something the insurance company should compensate you for.
Hope it all works out for you !

Thats right after just 5 weeks of owning it since replacing the truck that was stolen 5 weeks ago a guy in ranger decides to pull out in front of me going 45-50mph on a 6 lane divided rd to turn accross the median and go the other way, needless to say I could do nothing to avoid it and hit him just behind the driver rear wheel. He filpped and rolled 1 1/2 times and landed in the median on the sign that said "keep off median"!

He got the citation for failure to maintain safe lookout and the ambulance ride, I got some nifty new racin skripes from the paint in his truck! Would you believe the airbags DID NOT deploy in the TBSS!!! Nor did ONSTAR call to see if I was ok! Somebody got some splainin to do!!
