Congrats on the new purchase. I bought mine in June 06, and have put 17K trouble free miles on it. This SUV just rocks. I recently bought EFIlive V2 to tune it. I cleaned up the shifting and reduced some of the torque management tables. What a difference it made; the shifts are crisper and the throttle response is much better. It's hard to believe you can rev a SUV to 6500 rpms.
Mine felt real "tight" up to 5K miles and seemed to wake up after that. You will notice the exhaust gets louder as more miles roll up. I'm suprised at your brake fade comment. These come with the Z51 pads from the C6 and I think stop real well. I do notice some fade under light use, but once you stand on them that goes away.
