Any of you fellaz use those long, finned, heat sink style tranny coolers?

they're not worth a ****, get a Hayden or PermaCool tranny cooler and mount it to the front of your radiator, or just get a small elec.fan and mount it wherever.

Tube and fine coolers just don't seem to be as efficient as fin and plate types. I put in a Tru-Cool 40k cooler with a thermal bypass when I swapped in my 80e. I still haven't hooked up my temp sensor to a gauge, but its a pretty massive unit.

I have the true cool 40K cooler. It dropped my tranny temps 40* SWEET!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Have any of you bypassed the radiator since adding the auxilary tranny cooler? Thanks in advance!

I'll be adding a new external cooler w/ fan and I'm also keeping the factory external cooler.

Did this on a friends 02 Z28 that I put a 3600 conveter in it. Sucker never gets hot. But we did use a factory ford cooler for a F-450 superduty.
