Default steering gear box

Hey guys i have a 2004 1500 4x4 with 295/70 r16 nitto grapplers which are around a 34 -35 inch tire, I need to replace the steering gear box, so I am told by the stealership because of the moan it makes turning left. And yes I have had the shaft lubed, glued, screwed, and eventually replaced with the updated shaft. But it still makes the low pitched moan and groan every left turn I make. So if I replace the gear box what is the best option? maybe a 2500 gear box??? there also seems to be a different gear box available for the z-71 trucks which mine is not. Will a 2500 box fit and work on my truck???

I work at a dealership, may i'd be able to help.. I happened to come across a service bulletin the other day in SI about upgrading the gearbox in the half tons to one with a little more pressure. I think they refered to it as a 700 series or something like that, but some of them already come with it. Can I have your vin? I might be able to see what you have in yours through your vehicle build. Oh yeah, you definately cannot put a 3/4, 1 ton box in your truck lol. Or if you managed to it would require some serious modifying lol
