Pizza cutters
Anybody running the 255/85/16s? Tall and skinny seems to work great in the ND snow, and I am thinking about getting a set. Not too many companys make a tire in this size, but there is a few.

Its a fullsize... Once you break through the hard pack you need to be able to cut through it. From my expierence tall and skinny works great on fullsize trucks, and also from my expierence wide tires work great on anything weighing as much or less than a K5. Maybe the longer wheelbase has something to do with it also, but I'm not sure.....

You could also look at 235/85r16 Its a common size for duallys so a lot of companies make them.
285/75r16 work pretty good for me in the snow, they get some float for the deeper stuff, but can grip real well on the hard pack, and when I do break through they can dig to find traction, unless they dig too far and I get high centered. having a manual
trans helps too with the traction.

wide tires help you with not breaking through the snow, but still suck for traction on snow or ice, if you have the extra cash Id get a skinny tire for the winter season and you will be fine. Shorter wheel bases wont be as sturdy in bad weather just because of how nimble they are. hope this helps
