Default Newbe to 4 wheel drive need advice

I just got my first ever 4x4 a 2008 Z71 LT ext cab in black. I need a little more ground clearence up front for sure and would like to know the easiest way to do this. I would like to get some different tires for sure but not sure what to get. This is my new dd truck as well as my deer lease truck. I do not want to have to change gears and current gear is 3.73. The only performance mods I plan are cai, exhaust (long tubes and muffler), and a tune. What would you guys recommend as for as lift and tire?

Depends on the rims your running, But you could go with a leveling kit for a little more up front (2 in) but if you tow, the sag in the rear will be more noticable.
If you need a little more room under the front bumper, you can pop off the lower fascia air dam and that will give you a liitle more room for those steep inclines. If you have your owners manual, it describes how to take it off w/o damaging the clips. I think its 2 screws and 10 clips, should be in the driving off road section.

There are many options when it comes to tires, if your on factory 16s i would go with a 265 or 285/ 75 or 80 16s depending on the tire and if it will rub the inner fender or not.

2.5" ccm leveling kit and some 33s would look good.

There are plenty of threads on here to search for that shows approx what it would look like. What size tires are you running now? You can go a few sizes higher but its not going to give it a real lift. 33" is going to be about it without lifting it more. Your stock rims and tires are probley 29"to 30".

on our sierra we run a 3" lift up front and replaced the 1" rear space with a 2"..
we also removed the bottom of the lower valance.
we run a 33" tire and it looks awesome, 275/60r20..
heres the spacer i run:

I have the same truck. I have a Rough Country 2" level kit ($65). I had 275/70s on my 18 and it had the height I liked, they just aren't as wide as 285s. That kit suggests 285/65s for our wheels. Really easy install and still rides great!

the 265/70 and 285/65 R 18's are the same height (32.6")
I honestly think you can go a bit higher. The only reason theyd advertise that tire size is so that your speedometer isnt off. You should get an actual 33x12.5 tire on that 18" wheel and it should fill in nicely

friend of mine has 33x12.5 toyo's on his leveled Z71 CCSB

I ordered a 3 in kit for the front and wanted to know if the 2 in blocks from Autozone will work for the rear? Also will I need new shocks going up 1 inch in the rear? the tires I am looking at are 295/65/r18, will that be to much?
