Default Need To Tow or Haul 1500 Silverado ECSB From Tampa To N. GA

Hello,

I have my silverado dead in the water in Tampa Fl area and need to get it back to N. GA. Transport services cannot find me a driver! Its been more than a week. How can I do it myself? U-Haul says they have no trailer or dolly for it. Can anyone suggest alternatives?

Rent a moving van and a towing dolly, just tell them it's for a civic or accord.

Per U-haul's online information, the load rating on their auto transport trailer is questionable for your truck but the toy hauler or tow dolly(may have to argue front axle weight) ratings are in range. With a rental, you will have to be able to get the truck on the trailer/dolly. Does the truck move under it's own power well enough to load/unload? U-haul uses conservative ratings, so as mentioned, may have to fudge what vehicle is being transported. Have you contacted other transport services?

Auto trailer is too short for an ECSB 100%. I’ve towed a few things with it but an ECSB will be a bitch

Thanks Guys, I ended up renting a u haul 15' box truck and their Toy Hauler trailer. It worked great. Lost of D-rings of different sizes. 500 miles from Tampa to N GA

Nice! Glad it worked out for you Brother 👍.

I didn't know they had that trailer available. Seems like a good move on U haul's side because there's always lots of folks needing to tow larger loads.

Yes new-ish the trailer is a recent addition. The day before I picked it up they had a meeting of several stores personnel and the trailer introduction was one of the topics. You may have noted the wheel well covers are made to take being driven over. Some of their previous trailers had fold away to clear loading but must have lost several. The trailer brakes did a good job. Nothing flimsy about the trailer. The truck did not move at all. Straps held tension from the beginning, not needing a single click when checked.
You will see a safety chain connected. There are several places it can be located. We just used the one we found it in.
