Default need help finding 8.6 c-clip elim kit

hey everyone, after my trucks rear end letting loose last night im trying to gather a list of parts to get this thing back on the road. i found a moser spool for 187 bucks, hopefully my ring and pinion are still covered under warranty but my biggest dilemma is finding the correct c clip eliminator kit. ive tried finding the specs on the axle shaft diameter but havnt come back with any results. ive found a few c clip eliminator kits through summit but i cant find one that works with the 8.6. if anyone could help point me in the right direction it would be greatley appreciated!

thanks

tj

I don't believe there is one for the truck 8.6 diff. I think you'll have to cut the tube ends off, and weld new ends on that accept the C-clip elim kit. IIRC, you'll need custom axle shafts too.

diameter of the shafts are different? on yukons website theyve got a 30 spline spool that says it works with the 8.5 and 8.6 theres gotta be something compatable. on summit they do have one that says will work with 10bolt/12bolt as long as theyre not drum brakes. please correct me if im wrong but if i go with a mini spool i dont need the clip elim kit correct? thinking mabey ill just go get an open carrier from the junkyard put in the mini spool/ set up the ring and pinion and hopefully be good to go

You are correct. The only kits available are for cars which have a different diameter axle and brake flange pattern.

You would have to do something custom for the trucks and you would probably need to change the brake setup.

I looked into building this before and its very complicated to retain full use of the factory brake package.

seems like a lot of work just to run a full spool, mabey im just better off throwing a open carrier with a mini spool in then. i thought about grabbing another g80 from the junk yard but id rather just take the time and money do it once and do it right
