You can get a bed cap to keep everything dry.

Yeah I just don't really want another pick up. I know what I want to get, I just need to some input on which lift people have and the pros and cons. You think I will need to regear if I order it 4.10's and the six speed tranny?

if you order it with the 4:10's it would not be that big of a deal, it wouldnt be cost effective to switch them to 4:56's IMO, sorry I dont know anything about the lift kits for the newer suburbans

You could go with Fabtech, they make quality parts, there is also CST... Rancho makes a nice lift kit for the NBS Chevrolet SUV's... From what I've read, The new IFS suspension is a hell of a lot smoother and more capable off road then the torsion bar set-up from the older GMT-400 platform and up..

from what i have heard is that fabtech is the way to go if you have coilovers. if the new suburbans have torsion bars then go with a RCD lift kit. They are known for a quality ride. I have the fabtech and it rides great on my 2008 sierra. 4:10 gearing is perfect for the suburban with 34"s. make sure you have the dealer also put a class V (class 5) reciever hitch on so you arent limited to your towing capabilities.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the newest body style subs and tahoes have coil over front suspension. I was looking at the Rancho kit because I don't want to go over 5". I know that they have been building good stuff for a long time so I just wanted to see what people that had the newest generation of 4wd gm trucks were running and what they thought about it. I would like the Rancho lift with either fox or Billstein 7100s. I have had Rancho shocks in the past and they were great so maybe also the Rs9000s.
