Default Lift Kit for 88 GMC Sierra???

I've got an 88 GMC Sierra 2wd regular cab. I would like to put a 3 or 4 inch lift kit on it. I've done some internet searching and haven't found much for an 88 regular cab 2wd. I have no experience in lift kits and don't know much about them, what's good or bad, etc.... Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it was me I'd get a 4x4 to lift or lower the 2x

Yeah, I've thought about that too. It's got a stock stance right now, I'd like to go one way or the other.

well when I had my 1990 Reg cab 2wd there wasnt much for lift kits, there was lots of body lifts, and pretty much the only other lift kit was a 6-8 inch lift kit, i think fabtech made it, whats your budget on this build?

Budget is $500 or under. Are body lifts considered inferior to regular lift kits?

If you were going to use the truck to off road than yes the body lift would be inferior to a suspension lift. With a suspension lift you raise the ground Clarence in the middle of the truck. You can add larger tires that give you more traction as well as give you more axle clearance. Body lifts only allow you to put larger tires on. IMHO they usually look like crap. Some people fabricate brackets to raise the bumpers back to the body which helps but you can still see the frame sticking out under the body.

Yeah body lifts dont look all that great on the obs, the nbs there hardly noticable, but in his case I think Id just lower it,
