i got a question for gears also (dont wanna steal the thread) lets say my tire right now is 31.7 diameter but i want to go to a 30.6 diameter with 4.10s would my mileage be in the city: about the same, Better, worst? i know it will change from a 4.10 gear ration to a 4.26 but would that be better or worst for city mileage?

I have no clue man. I would imagine it would make your engine wind out to a higher rpm at the same speed, there for decreasing your gas mileage in the city.

Usually lowering the gear ration would help in town(numerically higher). Makes the truck start moving easier. On highway it would be harder because it revs higher at same speed as before. Of course this all depends on how you drive. Just my 2 bits, have not tried it personally.

You didnt say what differentials you were goin with.. im guessing if yours is a 4x4 then you already have the G-80? but if you go with a Eaton LSD it would be a good idea not to use Royal Purple in it..

Just letting you know..

Like everyone has said 4.56. I had 3.42 stock so going to a 4.56 with 35" tires was effectively gearing lower than stock. I LOVE the power difference. When I'm in town I can chirp my tires from a start without any powerbraking.
