Default Dropped Pitman Arm

Hey guys I hope this is the correct forum thread to ask this. I need a dropped pitman arm for an 88 Chevy C-3500 2WD. Nobody I could find made spindle lifts or any other lift for '88 1 ton 2wd trucks so I made my own, but now I am in need of a dropped arm to bring my steering geometry back in. I have searched over 50 manufacturer & distributor sites & can't find a dropped pitman arm for this truck. The drop on my stock arm is 1 3/4" inches so I need one from 4 3/4" to 6" inches. Any and all help is greatly apperciated, Thanks

**edit If I put this in the wrong forum, (which I think I did) will the moderators move it, or is there a way for me to move it?

Why couldnt you use a steering box off a 4wd and use an arm for it????? I cant imagine the box being to different for those years..Maybe a drop arm for a 4wd will work, have you tried it yet???

Like you have seen there isnt any out there for you

Hey Andrew, thanks for your reply. I hadn't thought about changing to a complete 4wd box because I was hopeing there was a pitman arm from a 4wd box or even from 2wd 3/4ton that would fit my box, but I'm having trouble cross refrencing the part numbers.
I haven't tried an arm for a 4wd yet cuz I don't want to buy one & be out the money if it doesn't fit the splines. Do you know of any places online where I could cross refrence GM part numbers? I tried compnine.com but they don't list the pitman arms individually.

Could just call up a parts store..The 3's are prob different cause of the offset but the splines could be the same..
You have any pull-a-parts near you????You could go pull one off an older 4wd and test fit it

The salvage yards here won't let us pull our own parts. Nobody gets to go out in the yard unless they are buying the whole vehicle & want to look at it. It would be great if they would separate the arms from the boxes & sell them separately but they don't want to sell them as individual parts. I would have to buy the whole box, bring it home, pull the arm, & then if it didn't fit I'm out the money. I would have to go buy another box & do it all again. It might get pretty expensive buying parts, before I ever found what year & model fit mine.

The parts houses were no help because they don't want to spend their time researching part numbers & dimensions for me, & I can't blame them for that. They are there to make a living, not to help me with mixing & matching parts.
I think the only thing that will help is if somebody has put an arm from a 3/4 or 1/2 ton on a 1 ton box, then I can go to one of the lift kit distributors & order a dropped arm for that particular year & model steering box.
Do you know of any places online where I could cross refrence GM part numbers? I have the numbers off my box, but when I contacted GM Corporate they wouldn't tell me anything They just wanted me to buy a new truck or car lol... They never would connect me to their parts gurus, & when I emailed them they wouldn't tell me of any GM internet places where I could research this myself.
