i love my cooper discover stt. looks pretty close to those expensive toyos but no where close to the price. they are awesome off road and not too loud on the highway.

Yeah the toyos are high, too expensive to just be burning off for me. But they do look good.

I've got a lot of miles on a lot of tires, both on and offroad (perk of the job) and I have to say I really like the all-around ability of the Duratracs on my personal ride. If I were to buy more aggressive tires than that, I'd get the Hankook Dynapro MT or the Goodyear MTR Kevlars. I've got a ton of offroad time on the Dynapro and they really take about well (rocks, thorns, etc). For a little more tolerance in slippery stuff, though, the MGR Kevlars are probably a bit better (we don't get wet much here so that is where my experience is lacking). I have found that the Dynapro is much tougher than the original MGR, fyi.

And the Firestone Destination MT is my least favorite name-brand mud terrain tire. They chunk like crazy and wear stupid fast.
