Default 305/70/16s on stock wheels?

Anybody running these on stock Silverado wheels. I have the chrome 99-02 wheels, (think they are 16x7?). Anyway, I have 285/75s now and I want something alittle wider especially since the Yokohama tread pattern seems to be narrower than most 285s. Think they will look stupid or will they be alright? Any pics would be great.

BTW: I'm looking at the M/T Baja MTZs.

Thanks,
Andrew

they will fit on your factory wheel but you might have to trim the bump stop bracket.

Thanks for the pic. I have nothing against alittle trimming lol. I think I'm going to have to get a measurement on the wheel though. They are the steel ones that look like they have a chrome cover stamped on them, I read the steel wheels are only 6.5"s wide.

I put a set of 305's on stock 2500 wheels and the tires were too wide, the center of the tire wore significantly faster than the outsides. And Im pretty sure they were 6.5" rims, steeles, with a chrome plate.

Yep, they are 6.5"s. So no 305s for these wheels. Maybe I'll pick up some 16x8 M/T Classics or maybe a set of the new Dick Cepeks.
