I really want to try one of the kits below. I currently have a zone 2" kit but i'm bored with it. No desire to run bigger than my current tire but would love a little better stance.

why wouldn't this work? will the differential drop take care of the pressure points?

hmm never seen that lift. personally if you want togo above 2.5" I would go 4"-6" lift kit. I ran 3" on the front of my truck and that was pushing it.

 

I done a 3" level and my ball joints wore out in 10k miles. I don't recommend it. My cv's were at bad angles and actually the passenger side pulled out of the center section. I agree with pewter if ya want that much just buy a true 4"-6" lift so everything is geometrically correct and ya don't **** anything up on a nice truck.

I personally went with a 2.5" ccm level and I love it. Ik. 1/2 doesnt sound like much but my ball joints, cv's, and tie rods all look much better with the ccm kit than with my other kit. Do it right the first time so you don't have to mess with it like i did.

 

The setup im running right now is:
bilstein 5100s at max lift approx 1.75"
and a 1" lift spacer on each side.
so approx 2.75" but it looks closer to 2.5"
rides awesome with the 285/70r17 falken. Dam thing hugs the road on pavement and feel planted and firm running dirt back roads at 75 lol.

 

Thanks guys. That is pretty much in line with what i read else where. One thing that keeps throwing me off is the spacers for the differential. That is new to me. I am by no means familiar with how everything fits together under the front end, so I ask.... what does this do? ....and what does it not do/fix?

I call those 3.5"-4" kits mini-lifts, cause essentially to me they are a stretched out leveling kit.

My biggest problem with them is that they don't come with a drop cross member.. thus making your lower control arm angles much steeper. Also being as they don't come with spindles it makes your tie rod angles steep as well. If you do get one of these kits, don't cheap out... make sure you get one that comes with upper control arms, they allow these kits more downward travel which is a must.

If you are looking for a bit taller of a stance I would recommend the Rough Country 1.25" body lift kit or the Zone 1.5" body lift. These are easy on the wallet and will provide that extra little height you are looking for on top of your 2" kit.

 

I did consider the zone 1.5" body lift, but my local shop wasn't a fan of it... something about bumper brackets.

The RCX 3.5" lift doesn't get too much praise (searching online) either

Ya a lot of the bad feedback that kit gets is from the earlier version of it... its my understanding that they have revised it. As I stated earlier I personally wouldn't run any of these kits.

You could do the 1.25" RCX body lift and then run the rear bumper pads from a 2500hd to fill the gap as the hd ones are taller than the 1/2 ton ones... this way you don't have to relocate your hitch/rear bumper.

 

Why not the 3.5 RCX lift? Comes with new upper control arms and slightly drops the front diff to keep cv angles good.
