Default 2WD 99 GMC lift?

alright i have a stock 99 GMC Sierra and i am tired of riping off my fron air dam and get stuck.. i know i shoud have got a 4x4 but i dont have the money for that and i got a great deal on this truck..

I was thinking of doing a 4" spindle and 3" blocks in the rear. with the spendles can i still use my stock wheels? and for the blocks do i need to get traction bars for the differenal? i'm worried about the axle wrap with the blocks.

also does anyone know a good place to get a locker for a good price?

I think you need 17" or larger to clear a 4" spindle lift, I know a 3" will clear, a friend has a 3" pro comp lift for his 2wd, he has add a leafs in the rear and does not use traction bars.

His kit came with a single 1.5" leaf, I know you could go up to 2.5"
they just give you more leafs, I think 2.5 is as high you can go with
add a leafs, not sure on that, if you want to go higher I would just
use blocks, another friend of mine and my cousin both have a 6"
lift on thier trucks and nether of them use traction bars it really all
depends on how you want to use your truck.

I don't think that you will be able to use your stock wheels for the simple fact that your spindles will rub the inside of them...but what do i know I am a 4X4 guy..j/k. Call Four Wheel Parts and ask the them they will be happy to tell you.

P.S. not a good idea to run around without your sway bar installed (highway driving)
