Default 285/55 SR20 or 325/60 SR20 BFG All-Terrain T/A KOs?

With the heat wave my brain is thinking snow. Twisted I know.

The original tires on the Silverado SS are due up for replacement before winter hits and I'm debating between the BFG All-Terrain T/A KO tires in either 285/55 SR20 or 325/60 SR20. Realizing the 285s will fit the wheel very nicely and perform theoretically better in the snow than the 325s, I'm still torn by how sweet the 325s would look with the extra width.

Will 325s look stupid on a 8.5" wheel? Will I really give up that much on winter driving in 2-6" of snow? Tire height is not a problem, I've got tuning software.

The BFGs will be going on stock size and offset 20 x 8.5" Weld Racing Velociti 6 wheels.

No, I'm not buying Toyo tires...and my SS is a 100 mph AWD sled hauling machine, not some sissy lowered truck never to get off asphalt.

285's bro, not unless you are wanting to lift it. If you havn't already bought the wheels i would at least go with a 9.5" wide wheel.

325/60R20 is a 35" tire. Go with the 285/55R20s. They're almost a 33" tire though.... you might need to raise the truck to standard 4wd height in order to fit them.

The SS came from the factory with 32" 275/55-20 tires so 285s isn't a huge stretch for fitament.

The Weld wheels are already here and were too good a price to pass up or else I would have went with a 9.5 or 10".

Leaning towards a 3" lift - all depends what I end up doing for tires. Today I'm thinking about putting the 285 BFGs on the stock wheels and find some sticky summer low-profiles for the Welds.
