Lookin for comments an opinion's. I have a 04 chevy 4wd, 6" lift, 35" tires, cold air intake, pace setter LT headers, with aftermarket y-pipe, single n dual out, spin tech rv muffler, with the front o2's deleted, 4.56 gears. I ran across a horse trade deal, for a asa cam. I'm gonna run the cam, along with upgrading the Tc, with the TB i6 Tc, which I've read an been told by a friend who has one in his truck, they stall between 24 an 2600 rpm, any comments on how it will performe. As I do tow an 18' car trailor, to carry vehicle's, an lumber. An I do hav a 22' pontoon. I've been told the cam will b decent for what I'm lookin for, but not exact. But I will b runnin the cam, unless I strike a deal somwhere else, any opinion or comment will b appreciated. Thanks an god bless

Are you talking about the 226/236 110 ASA cam? If so there is no way on this earth I would put that in your truck. With the lift, larger tires, and the way you use your truck I wouldnt be suprised if you actually lost performance over the stock cam......

If it were me I would try to trade or sell that cam and get one that would be better suited for your application.

Yes, that's the cam. If I can find a smaller cam, like the 212/218, low lift cam, I wouldn't hav a problem runnin that cam. But for now, it's the asa. I still hav 2 or 3 months b4 I hav time to stick it n, so I got time to look around. Anybody else is more than welcome to express there opinion. Thanks an god bless

There is a 212/118 low lift in the classifieds as a matter of fact. I would bet you could sell that cam over on Ls1 Tech as it would be much more popular in a car application.

I would seriously look at doing other mods before putting that cam in even if it is your only option. I think you would just loose too much down low and not be satisfied with it.

What classifieds is that cam n, that's the cam I'd rather hav, or if I could hav the link sent to me. An what other mods could b done to help improve performance an towin on these trucks. I do believe the guy who did my tune, didn't do a good job. The truck still runs a bit sluggish n my opinion. I no a 6.0 swap would solve a lot. Keep ur opinions comin. Thanks an god bless

Unfortunately the cam just sold in the classifieds section. They usually go pretty fast around here because they are proven performers in our trucks so keep a look out and I am sure another will pop up. Here is the link to the classifieds section on this board specifically for GM parts: GM Parts Classifieds - PerformanceTrucks.net Forums

As for other mods go you could look into even a bit steeper gear than what your running now. What RPM do you turn going down the road at 70? Also, you could look into getting a new tune by one of the forum sponsors. Aside from that, to help with off-the-line torque you are really kinda limited to more cubes or a roots style blower.....

Thanks for the link. Not real sure at 70mph, at 65mph, I believe around 26 to 2700. Which the gears that r n, is what's recommended, an actually puts the truck a little above stock performance. I'll keep lookin for another cam, an let y'all no which way I went, an how it does. Thanks an god bless

? For 53bowtie, an anyone else. I ran across a 214/220 111.5 cam for my 5.3, I was told it's made by comp. I can't find the cam threw comp, but seen thunder racing makes one close to the specs, but has a 115 LS. Has anyone heard of this cam, an would it do for my setup
