Default 03 Silverado 2500HD on stock 16" wheels

Hey guys, I just bought an 03 Silverado it's the 2500HD 4X4 and it has stock 16" wheels I was looking to get some off road tires and was thinking of the Micky Thompson Deegan 38s but if I keep the stock 16s how big of a tire can I put on without having to make any modifications to the truck like lift kit or cutting wheel wells.

I can only imagine the tire howl those will make lol.

But with stock 16's anything over a 285 will rub the bumpers without a lift. But with such huge *****/tread blocks on those tires, the 285's will still likely rub the bumper and inner fender.

I never thought of tire noise I work in construction so a lot of the jobs are down dirt roads what is a good tire for on the highway but also a good off road for dirt/muddy/snow covered riads?

Hankook Dynapro ATM or Firestone destination AT's are good for highway use and will do good offroad aswell.

I dislike the BFG Ko's and somewhat don't like the Cooper AT3's. Mainly for tread life and both always seemed to have extra road force when new and caused balance problem. The Ko's are super soft and if haul heavy loads or tow big trailers, you will smoke those tires quickly.

But given that you do many dirt roads, thats always going to eat at tires faster.

I beg to differ i ran a set of atz that didnt last 6 months, until they got down to about 5-6/32 and they stayed there.... I prefer kumho road venture at..... They remind me of the old dunlop rover rv's and i have had good luck with them and they last forever, look more like a mud terrain than your typical all terrain tire....
