I know you said no florescent but I love this thing Slim-Line Fluorescent Work Light
It doesnt get hot (can still touch it after hours of use), and the plug on it makes it act like an extension cord to. Very useful for when I need light and use my dremel or soldering iron. And you really cant beat the price.

I have been looking for one of these as well. I wish the rechargable ones had more battery life but i guess you cant have it all. I have also seen some corded LEDs for those who don't want to sacrifice run time for portability. Problem with those is they often dont have a magnet on them and if you work in a cold shop ever, the cords get stiff as all heck in the winter (best solution for this is not a cordless light but an insulated and heated shop). That 78 LED looks like the best I have seen for the price.
Here is a hood mount style:

I have the exact light posted above its from Matco and works great. Doesn't get hot at all even after hours of use. It is a fluorescent tho not a led. Think I paid around $150? Not sure. I can call my Matco dealer when in get back into the states and get you a price and part # if your interested?

At work I have a stinger led (battery powered) flash light that. Got the set up with piggy back charger and 2 batteries. The tool truck has an under hood light that is almost as long as the hood is wide. It has padded hooks on both sides to wrap around the edge of the hood and rotates so you can put the light right were you wont it. It is a/c powered, led and bright as all get out. A coworker has one and it is on my wishlist....

I use a Strion LED rechargeable, Interstate LED rechargeable. Both with Lisle flexible magnetic bases. For more light I use a Walmart 20 LED rechargeable drop light with a magnetic base and rubber hooks. Plenty of light. They all will last about 6 hours of constant use. Also have a couple of Matco LED 120 volt drop lights. The older I get the more lights I seem to collect.
