PSA: DANGER: Harbor Freight Jack Stand Recall 3 & 6 Ton
Harbor Freight 3 & 6 Ton Jack Stands Part Numbers 56371, 61196, and 61197
This is a very dangerous issue if you have a set of Harbor Freight jack stands with the above numbers stop using them immediately. Many of them have just been recalled over pawls that could disengage from the extension lifting post, under a shift in weight, causing them to suddenly collapse and very easily result in serious injury or death!
You can return them to the store for a $24.99 or a $46.99 gift card.
You can also ship them back to Harbor Freight and they will cover shipping.

I remember seeing you first post this in your build thread. Finally got around to returning my (4) 3 ton stands. I told em I wanted store credit for a little more. They said I would be getting $59.99 (+ TAX) back for each one. That seemed high, but I'm not an idiot, and shut my mouth so they could continue. I didn't realize until they gave me the receipt, but they just gave me credit for 6 ton stands. Just returned four stands I probably paid $50 total for, until I could find a great deal on some six tons.
They had to put it on two gift cards. It's going to take me years to buy enough stuff to use this up. Took a quick walk around the store, and nothing popped out at me. I'll probably try to trade em for something I can use. Thanks!!
