thanks for the info brother...I honestly have no preference.....whatever helps me weld nice faster is where my money will probably go! Now if two machines are close......I'd go for the least expensive

One other thing to think about for the home shop. All of the newer inverter machines operate with a much lower amperage draw, be they mig, or tig. The 3 in 1 machines are great for the home shop. Now, if you want the capability to tig on aluminum, you'd be better off looking at a more specific machine like the Dynasty, or Lincoln Invertec, but it's real hard to justify those prices for a welder that will only be used every once in a while. You might also want to look at HTP at MIG/TIG/Stick Welders & Plasma Cutters | USA Weld. Great people to deal with.
