Well it's sounding like I'm going to have to put a 220 line into the garage...ok then!
Someone above mentioned a Miller Thunderbolt 225...I found one on CL.
Great welder
Good deal for $200?
I looked at several of the other ones you guys mentioned...I may kick myself for it later but anything over about $400 is out of my budget right now. I just don't think I'd get enough use out of it.

200 $ I would def buy that!
Does it come with a stinger and a ground clamp ?
He'll offer him 175 $ and see what he says .
You can also buy a TIG setup down the road and just reverse the leads on that machine to run it .

Miller Maxstar150's are a nice duel voltage (110/220v) stick machine. A little pricy but high quality. I bought a Millermatic 211 wire feed duel voltage machine last year and LOVE it! Even on 110, still welds the thicker stuff like my turbo manifolds very well! Way hotter then my old Millermatic 130 did (both running on 110v) and I can plug it in anywhere.
Think of this too, if you buy a good welder now, it will hold its value. It's a quality investment. If you buy a cheap welder, it won't be worth much if you ever want to sell it.

Since you changed the title... I have a Lincoln ProMig140. It is a 120V machine that can be used with gas or flux core wire and can be switched to do aluminum as well (spool gun recommended). I have had it for about 4 years and have yet to run anything but flux core wire thru it, just don't have room for the gas bottles in my garage. The spatter is not too bad as long as the metal is clean and has a good ground connection. I have welded 3/16 with .035 flux wire and got great penetration. I have been pleased with it for my hobby and general around the house use.

Ok there Mr Professional welder...I think I've just about convinced myself to get a nice wire feed flux core/gas welder. I'm going to keep an eye on Craigslist and see if I can find a good deal on a lightly used one. I'll start looking for the Millermatic 211, are there any others that you'd recommend?
. Miller, Hobart or Lincoln all make good welders. Hobart makes a duel voltage machine too. I would try to find a duel voltage machine, they weld so much hotter, even on the 110 side. Like I said, I LOVE my 211 and have probable 40-50 spools of wire though it now. Again, look at it as an investment, a good name brand welder will hold it's value. You will see that with what people will be asking for used ones, lol.

I was looking at the miller 211 but i ended up getting the hobart 210. Basically the same machine but a little cheaper.
