Default What to do in Austin...

...besides drink

Thinking about taking me & the woman on a group vacation with 3 other couples (friends) for Labor Day. 1 couple wants to float the river, which I am not crazy about. I hear its insanely busy that weekend. Just looking for something else to do while in ATX besides 6th street. Too old to & every night.

The river is a damn good time, one of my favorite pass times. Go to the warehouse district downtown, older crowd, no frat boys. Im a bit of a nerd so I enjoy the museums and there is the imax. Lot of good places out on lake travis to go boating or eat on the lake. All depends on what you want to do.

I juust want to enjoy the time away and have fun doing it. Is the river just flat *** packed on Labor Day Weekend?? I wouldn't mind hitting up a GTG if there is one that weekend.

Since you have a group, I would rent a boat and go out on Lake Austin for the afternoon. Austin has great restaurants as well, I would bring your appetite.

I'm sure the river is dried up.

I was on the river last weekend. Had to get up to walk about three times. I'll try the Comal next time. Heard something about some rapids??

That's what I'm hearing. Works out great for me, I love trying new restaurants. Any websites you can recommend that have more info on the boat rentals??

To be honest, one of my friends has always handled the rental, but Cody might be able to chime in. Found this while googleing: Boat Rentals? | Austin | Yelp
